Feedlot Management

The ALFA Feedlot Management (FLM) Committee provides advice to the ALFA Council on current issues and policies relating to feedlot operational matters and industry programs including:

  • National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme (NFAS)
  • National Livestock Identification Scheme (NLIS)
  • Livestock Production Assurance (LPA)
  • National Vendor Declarations (NVD)
  • Cattle and commodity transport issues
  • Industrial relations including WH&S, awards
  • Forward marketing – cattle and commodities
  • Occupational Health & Safety
  • Feedlot employee training, extension and recruitment
  • Meat processing issues
  • Industrial relations
  • Cattle and feedlot insurance
  • Feedlot financing and taxation issues
  • Meat processing issues.

Committee members represent the feedlot industry in a number of national industry program committees and forums including:

  • Feedlot Industry Accreditation Committee (FLIAC)
  • National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme Review Steering Committee
  • NLIS National Advisory Committee
  • NLIS Device Based Status Working Group
  • NVD Management Group
