COMMUNICATE YOUR RESEARCH STUDENT COMPETITION

ABOUT

Communicate Your Research Competition is designed to back the next generation of feedlot industry researchers to present their science in way that lands with the feedlot sector.

The competition gives students working in relevant intensive animal and veterinary science the chance to share their research with the Australian feedlot industry in a way that is clear, relevant and genuinely useful. Great research matters – but only if it is understood and remembered.

The competition is run every two years, at BeefEx.

COMPETITION OUTLINE
  1. Eligible students receive a complimentary full delegate registration to BeefEx.

  2. For the first round of judging, students are asked to deliver a 5-minute presentation with an accompanying slide deck on their research.

  3. From this judging round, up to 8 students may be selected to present their research on the big stage at BeefEx to conference delegates.

  4. Students are required to prepare a poster as outlined in the guidelines.  Students then share their research via a poster session in the exhibition hall at BeefEx.

  5. All students receive training on professional presentation skills to heighten their stage performance and provide an additional professional development opportunity.

All 8 semi-finalists will be required to attend a Teams meeting 3 weeks prior to the event for a briefing.

All 8 semi-finalists will be required to attend a half-day presentation training session with speaking coach and BeefEx program director.
