Who can enter?

The competition is open to all ALFA Members and you don’t have to be a professional photographer to get involved. You must also ‘like’ the ALFA Facebook page.

 

How do I send my photos?

We will only accept digital photos: When sending digital photos, a JPEG file is preferred.

 

The resolution of your electronic image should be A4 in size and 300dpi (ie. 2 MB + sized file). We cannot use photos that are smaller than this, as they will appear too pixelated when enlarged for the calendar. When emailing your photo, JPEG is the best format to do this in as it provides the highest quality at the smallest file size.

By submitting your photo(s) you are giving ALFA consent to use the image(s) for any or all media, now or hereafter, for ALFA run events and/or promotions. You also consent to ALFA releasing your image in print and electronic form publicly or privately.

 

Please note there is a limit of one photo per entrant/feedlot in the top 13 photos. You may enter as many photos as you like, however, if more than one makes it into the top 13, only the highest voted picture (dependant on quality) will be printed.

 

Entries open until 18 November 2019. Entries are uploaded to Facebook and voting will be take place between 1 July 2019 - 3 November 2019.

 

The 13 photos with the most "likes" on Facebook will then be published in the annual calendar. Any photos that are not high enough quality may be substituted out for the next highest voted image.  

 

Tips for taking photos

To give yourself the best chance of having a prize-winning photo, there are a few things you should consider when taking and submitting your photos. Photos taken in landscape format (horizontal photos) rather than in portrait format (vertical photos) work best for the layout of the ALFA calendar and therefore have a better chance of being selected as a prize winner. If using a digital camera please ensure you use the highest resolution/quality settings available on your camera when taking the shot.
