Group Training Session - NFAS Responsibilities (Sept 4)

Join resident facilitator, Jeff House, live as he guides you and the team through the module NFAS Responsibilities, the second module within the Feedlot Accreditation Fundamentals Course on Feedlot TECH. The access fee is per feedlot/business, and covers all staff that wish to partake in the training session. Date: Wednesday, 4th of September 2024 Time: 3:30 - 4:30pm

Post registration, you will receive a zoom link to save to your calendar and access the training. Those who attend and participate in the session will have their Feedlot TECH training transcript updated automatically.

The feedlot industry has a number of responsibilities under the National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme (NFAS).

In this module you’ll learn about responsibilities feedlots have under the NFAS, and how management plans and risk assessments help feedlots meet these responsibilities and achieve their NFAS accreditation. Learning outcomes and competencies By the end of this module, you will learn to:

  • Understand feedlot responsibilities regarding animal welfare.

  • Understand feedlot responsibilities regarding the environment.

  • Recognise the importance of management plans and standard operating procedures.

  • Understand the key management plans a feedlot must have for NFAS.

  • Know the importance of maintaining a risk register and contingency plans.

This E-learning series has been by funded grain-fed levies and matching federal government R&D contributions via Meat & Livestock Australia in consultation with the Australian Lot Feeders’ Association.
