Charlton Feedlot is located near Charlton in north-west Victoria just 2 1/2 hours from Melbourne. This very modern 24,000 head facility serves a key role in the Teys Australia supply chain producing quality beef for the domestic and short-fed export markets.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Pen Rider/ Stockperson to join our team on a permanent full time basis. This opportunity would suit an enthusiastic individual who has a genuine desire to work in the beef industry and who thrives in a collaborative team environment.
A day in the life of this role will include:
Pen riding, pen movements, drafting and cutting out;
Diagnosis of animal health symptoms with a strong emphasis for animal welfare;
Administration of animal health treatments;
Unloading of incoming cattle and loading of outgoing cattle as well as general stock handling;
Maintaining accurate daily records, including data entry and reporting;
General yard maintenance.
About you
You will be a competent horse rider possessing excellent cattle handling skills with proven experience in a similar role. Minimum of two horses is required for this position.
