Group Training Session - Understand Animal Health Issues (Apr 3)

Join resident facilitator, Jeff House, live as he guides you and the team through the module Understanding Animal Health Issues, the fifth module within the Fundamentals of Pen Riding Complete Course on Feedlot TECH. The access fee is per feedlot/business, and covers all staff that wish to partake in the training session. Date: Wednesday, 3rd of April 2024 Time: 3:30 - 4:30pm

Post registration, you will receive a zoom link to save to your calendar and access the training. Those who attend and participate in the session will have their Feedlot TECH training transcript updated automatically.

Pen riders play a pivotal role in ensuring the wellbeing of feedlot cattle. By learning factors impacting cattle health, understanding their body system, and gaining familiarity with common health concerns, you’ll develop the ability to identify health issues early, leading to improved welfare outcomes for cattle. Learning outcomes and competencies By the end of this module, you will learn to:

  • Identify factors that influence animal health

  • Recognise signs of a healthy animal

  • Know how to identify symptoms according to body systems

  • Identify common health issues associated with each body system

This E-learning series has been by funded grain-fed levies and matching federal government R&D contributions via Meat & Livestock Australia in consultation with the Australian Lot Feeders’ Association.
