About the role
This role is central to our success, providing vital support to the Station Manager through day-to-day ownership of backgrounding and maintaining a high-level oversight of feedlot performance. Since we are a process-driven business, we value consistency in our operations, from NLIS compliance to the confident use of data hardware.

With the help of the Apprentice Mechanic and maintenance team, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of feedlot plant and equipment, ranging from light vehicles, trucks, generators, earthmoving equipment and feed milling equipment.

You will be self-motivated and willing to relocate to a rural environment (this is a 10:4 roster).

Located near Moora, WA we are WA’s largest feeding facility and are designed to supply Harvest Road’s processing facility, Harvey Beef.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

Wallumba Feedlot is looking for a dependable and practical Livestock Hand to assist daily cattle operations in a safe and efficient feedlot setting. This is a hands-on position ideal for anyone who has a passion for working outdoors, enjoys working with livestock, values animal welfare, and thrives in a team environment. Experience with work horses is essential; applicants must be confident riders and comfortable handling stock both in yards and pens.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
• General cattle handling and processing/inducting

We are currently seeking an energetic and positive Operations Manager with a passion for animal welfare to join our expanding business based at our feeding facility near Moora, WA. This is WA’s largest feeding facility and is designed to supply Harvest Road’s processing facility, Harvey Beef.

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager – Koojan Downs Feedlot, you will lead the routine care and feeding of cattle kept in the feeding facility and oversee the operational process of the feeding facilities. You will be a self-motivated person who is hands on and is passionate about the agriculture industry. You will have a strong work ethic and be willing to learn and contribute to the team.

Your primary responsibility will be the operations of the feeding facility and ensuring the operational deliverables and staff are managed in accordance with Harvest Road’s quality, safety and animal welfare policies and procedures. You will ensure that proper husbandry techniques and feeding programs are in place to promote optimal growth.

Key Responsibilities of the role:
• Ensure the coordination of daily activities and resources required across various departments of the feeding facility.
• Assist the Business Unit Manager in the facilitation and coordination of management meetings that are conducted weekly and any other operational meetings required across the feedlot.
• Lead, motivate and develop a high performing team to effectively carry out all aspects of the day-to-day operations.
• Backfilling for leave and other unexpected events when required.
• Lead and train a team in the safe and low stress handling of all livestock.
• Ensure that all Quality Assurance, OH&S and Environmental policies and procedures are being implemented throughout the feedlot.
• Take a leadership role in the implementation of the training systems across the feedlot to ensure that adequate training and the development of staff skills meets the business requirements.
• Manage cost responsibilities within budgetary limitations of the business in consultation with the Business Unit Manager.
• Provide positive input into the planning and structuring of the business operational requirements in conjunction with executive management and feedlot line management where required.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in in the operation and management of a livestock enterprise.

About the Role
As a motivated Feedmill Leading Hand, you will be passionate about agriculture and cattle, committed to continuous learning, and focused on safety. In this role, you will support the Manager and Feeding & Milling Supervisor in planning, implementing, and evaluating the livestock feed management program.

Apply knowledge of cattle nutrition to support feeding programs
• Oversee and maintain the feedmill to prepare feed rations according to the feeding program
• Operate and maintain milling equipment and machinery
• Maintain accurate records of feed stocks and usage
• Operate the FY3000 Feedbunk feeding system
• Clean and maintain feed bunks
• Assist with general property upkeep, repairs, and maintenance

About You

Key Responsibilities of the role:
· Processing of supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding and approvals in collaboration with Harvest Road finance team.
· Raise purchase requisitions and handle invoices in Mediusflow.
· Handle vendor payments and records in Elynx.
· Assisting office staff and management with Medius Flow where required.
· Maintain medical supplies and equipment as per authority of supplier.
· Weighbridge operation of all commodity receivals including grain sampling.
· Weighbridge operation of livestock receival and dispatch when required.
· Respond to enquiries from suppliers and internal stakeholders.
· Coordinate supply, filing and invoicing for all commodity contracts with feedlot and feed mill managers.
· Assist with inventory management and carry out monthly stock take procedures.

Ideal skillset:
· At least 2+ years of experience with data entry and administration.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Prior experience working in the region and/or agricultural industry and understanding of agricultural supply chains.
· Strong focus on safety, animal welfare and bio-security standards.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
· Strong computer skills including MS Office.
· Mature and rational approach to problem solving

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in the daily operation of equipment; including loaders, trucks, telehandlers, light vehicles and other machinery carrying out tasks such as pen cleaning, composting and small earthmoving tasks. This position will suit someone who is self-motivated and willing to relocate to a rural environment (this is a 10:4 roster) and work within a tight well-supported and team driven environment.

You will have:
• Current driver’s licence (Preferably minimum HR, with HC or MC licence highly regarded).
• Previous experience with machinery including using a loader and skid steer loader with a focus on safety.
• High attention to detail.
• Good mechanical knowledge.
• Initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter, motivated and hard-working, willing to be part of the small team.
• Ability to work independently.
• Candidates will be required to Pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical assessment. The role will require a suitable level of fitness to carry out the duties.
