The Feedlot with a 27,000 standard cattle unit capacity is located in Tintinara, South Australia, and is a key partner of the new Murray Bridge Processing Plant.
About the role: The Livestock Hand (Pen Rider) are responsible for maintaining the health, welfare, and overall care of livestock, in strict adherence to both internal guidelines and external regulations. Duties of pen riders include and will require you to have some experience in: Horse-based and general livestock husbandry tasks; Monitoring cattle health on horseback; Drafting and moving cattle on horseback; Administration of animal health products; Receiving, drafting, processing, and moving of cattle daily; Must have a current drivers licence. Pen Riders will ideally supply 2 suitable working horses and tack to be considered for the position which attracts a generous fortnightly horse allowance along with shoeing, feed, vaccinations, regular horsemanship training and individual paddocks for your horses.

Feedlot Manager

Located at Dunmore, just over an hour west of Toowoomba, Opal Creek is Australian Country Choice’s largest of 3 feedlots, with a 30,000 SCU capacity. The team at Opal take great pride in running a range of highly successful and productive specialised custom fed programs for long fed Wagyu through to short fed domestic supermarket, mostly to supply our Cannon Hill processing facility. With approved development plans for expansion, Opal Creek is a critical link in ACC’s fully, vertically integrated, cattle and beef supply chain.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager, Feedlots, you’ll be supported by section managers from the mill, livestock, maintenance and administration teams and lead a total team of around 45 people. You’ll take overall and responsibility for ensuring all feedlot operational areas are safe, effective, efficient and profitable, whilst serving the best interests of our people and livestock. You’ll do this by:
· Prioritising the health and safety of our team at all times and building a positive safety culture
· Mentoring, coaching and building capability in others to maintain a highly engaged and productive team
· Clearly articulate operational objectives and expectations (both written and verbal)
· Ensuring infrastructure, assets and plant are well maintained
· Managing capital expenditure projects
· Consultation and collaboration with industry experts and specialists
· Planning cattle movements in line with customer specifications and timing
· Ensuring all food safety, animal welfare regulatory and compliance requirements are met
· Reviewing and monitoring data and information to be able to quickly identify trends, changes and implement changes as required

About you

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Feedmill Supervisor to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
Leading a team of up to 8 people, the successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the hands-on day to day milling & feeding operations at the feedlot. The modern steam flaking mill is state of the art and can process up to 200 tonne of grain per day.
The feeding system utilises the latest Digistar technology and delivery is carried out using Rotomix feedtrucks.
This opportunity would suit an enthusiastic individual who has a genuine desire to work in the beef industry and who thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Some of the tasks of this role will include:
-Leading the feeds team.
-Ordering & organising delivery of commodities.
-Bunk calling – ensuring cattle are fed to the standards required
-Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office etc
-Commodity testing as per QA requirements

-Minimum 2 years experience in feed milling, ideally with steam flaking experience.

Reporting to the Livestock Manager, this primary purpose of this role is to ensure timely supply of livestock to ACC Properties and Feedlots in line with the required volume, specifications, quality and pricing schedules.
· Attend livestock saleyards / events
· Build and maintain mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships with vendors and suppliers based on transparency, trust and loyalty
· Proactively engage producers, agents and vendors and provide timely, honest and constructive feedback to vendors on cattle performance
· Maintain an informed awareness about industry trends, seasonal influences and risk to livestock supply
· Ensure livestock suppliers uphold ACC’s standards relating to quality and animal welfare
· Liaison with livestock transport and logistics providers

Teys Australia is seeking a results-driven Loadout Manager to join the Operations team based at our Biloela processing site in Queensland. The role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the dispatch of Teys' meat products securing a smooth operation between Boning Room and Loadout area.
Reporting to our Plant Manager, you will ensure compliance and quality standards for orders and product inventory, while minimizing any damage and delays to Teys cartons and pallets. You will be required to secure all documentation are accurate and submitted on time. Additionally, you will oversee health and safety of our employees and environment, addressing risks and coordinating necessary training.
About You
It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:
-Experience within an export meat processing operation
-Demonstrate leadership skills and experience working in an export loadout/warehousing environment
-Sound knowledge of the Export Control (Meat and Meat Products) Orders

About the Role
Teys Australia is seeking a day shift Boning Room Supervisor to join the Boning Room team based at our Rockhampton processing site in Central Queensland.
