RE-USABLE PVC FLY TRAP

What's the issue/challenge?

Fly and other airborne insects pose a big issue in feed-yards come Spring and Summer so baiting becomes pertinent to managing their impact. The PVC Fly Trap allows for user-friendly, safe and contained fly baiting to occur with no potential of animal cross contamination.

How does the innovation/idea work?

The PVC Fly Trap is designed to hang on external fences, elevated from the ground, surrounding feedlot pen lanes, effluent areas and other grassed off fly-prone areas. The Fly Trap has 2x 55-65cm slots cut into the 2m pipe allowing for fly bait and solution to settle in the bottom half, and a 'sheltered' top for fly's to seek out. The Fly Trap is sealed on one end and has a twistable cap on the other allowing for user friendly removal of used and rubbished material

Cost of Innovation:

$30 total.

Enter your innovation/idea into the ALFA Award for Innovation 2021 for your chance to win prize money, and bragging rights! Entries close 1 September 2021 and can be submitted at https://www.feedlots.com.au/innovator.
