ALFA Year in Review 2024-25

We are very pleased to share with you our Year in Review 2025, ALFA’s annual report showcasing our collective achievements for our members, the feedlot industry and the wider value chain.

 


Some of the highlights from 2024–25 include:

  • Training & Professional Development: 2,929 users and 204 feedlots engaged with Feedlot TECH; 24 graduates from Margin & People Management and 40 from the Emerging Leaders Program; hosted the largest-ever BeefEx with 800+ delegates, launched the Future Feeders Network.

  • Policy & Advocacy: 28 submissions lodged; strengthened political and industry engagement following our strategic investment in policy capacity.

  • Animal Welfare & Biosecurity: Shade adoption reached 72% of cattle; led the supply chain in biosecurity by launching the ALFA Biosecurity Hub and providing new resources and training to protect our industry.

  • Research and Development: Partnered with MLA on Feedlot Research and Development for the betterment of grain fed levy payers.

  • Markets & Industry Growth: Cattle on feed reached a record 1.6 million head, with capacity reaching 1.7 million; strong advocacy in Australia–EU FTA negotiations reinforced the industry’s position of no deal without improved beef access.

  • Governance & Strategic Direction: Continued implementation of the Constitution, enhanced governance and financial controls and finalised ALFA’s Strategic Plan 2025–2030.
