From 01 January 2026, all feedlots will be required to have a comprehensive biosecurity management plan in place under updated NFAS LM7 standards.
In a feedlot, biosecurity is everyone’s responsibility. It plays a critical role in preventing disease, protecting animal health, and supporting safe, efficient production.
The new Biosecurity Fundamentals Course, now available free through Feedlot TECH Lite, gives feedlot teams the knowledge and practical skills to recognise and manage biosecurity risks.
BY COMPLETING THIS MODULE, YOU WILL:
Gain a clear understanding of biosecurity and its impact on your feedlot and the industry.
Explore the Biosecurity System, including roles and responsibilities during an emergency animal disease incursion.
Identify potential biosecurity risks and how they may enter and spread on your feedlot.
Understand the purpose of a biosecurity management plan and its role in protecting your feedlot.
Learn how to complete a biosecurity management plan for NFAS accreditation.
Strong biosecurity practices help ensure feed, water, and equipment remain free from contamination, promoting efficient production and food safety. They also protect market access, uphold the industry’s reputation, and safeguard our environment and communities.
This essential course is available free of charge as part of Feedlot TECH Lite, making biosecurity training accessible to everyone in the feedlot industry.
