Future Feeders Network Forum and Soirée: program announced 


We are excited to share the full program for the inaugural Future Feeders Network Forum and Soirée, taking place on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, at The Empire Theatre in Toowoomba, Queensland. 


Designed by the Future Feeders Network Committee, this youth led event will bring together the next generation of lot feeders and professionals connected to the industry for a day of learning, connection, and celebration. 


The Forum and Soiree will provide attendees with fresh perspectives, practical insights, and valuable industry connections to help shape their career in lot feeding.

 

Forum Program Overview 


Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM 

Venue: The Empire Theatre, Toowoomba QLD 


The day begins with a welcome from ALFA President Grant Garey, FFN Chair Tim Brennan, and MC Claire Taylor, before diving into a series of panel discussions, interactive sessions and keynote presentations. 


Program highlights include: 

  • The Power of Networks and Mentorship A panel featuring emerging and experienced leaders sharing their stories and the value of mentorship in their careers. Speakers: Megan Krause, Jeff Dight, Amanda Moohen 

  • Leadership and Storytelling – Shaping Your Career Narrative An interactive session led by Lyndsey and Patrice Douglas from Centred for Success, focused on communication and personal branding. 

  • Lot Feeders – Then and Now Reflections from industry leaders on the evolution of lot feeding and advice for those starting out. Speakers: Grant Garey, Emily Perkins, Grant Melrose 

  • Skills for the Future – What Employers Want A discussion on emerging workforce expectations and the skills needed to succeed in tomorrow’s feedlots. Speakers: Lisa Sharp (Stockyard), Todd Newton (Bindaree Food Group), Lauren McNally 

  • Changing Perceptions – Lessons from Beyond the Feedlot A keynote from Claire Taylor on advocacy, communication and shaping public understanding of agriculture.

     

The Forum will close with a forward-looking discussion on the future of the feedlot industry, followed by final remarks from the FFN and ALFA leadership team. 

 

Soirée – Celebrate and Connect 


Time: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM 

Venue: The Gips, Toowoomba QLD  

Dress code: Cocktail attire

 

The day concludes with a relaxed and festive Soiree, designed to continue conversations and celebrate the energy of the next generation. 


Guests will enjoy: 

  • Substantial canapés and an open bar featuring a selection of wines, beers and spirits 

  • Live music and entertainment 

  • An auction, including original artwork by Lauren McNally

The soirée offers a chance to build meaningful connections in a social setting and reflect on the ideas and stories shared throughout the day.
