In collaboration with Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), ALFA is hosting an informative webinar this June to share insights from the recently completed FLT 5018 Feasibility Study into feedlot manure and effluent value adding technologies and strategies.

As input costs continue to rise and global demand for sustainable agriculture intensifies, lot feeders are looking at ways to extract greater value from existing operations. One of the most underutilised assets in feedlot systems? Manure and effluent byproducts.
This was a desktop study to determine the current volume and management of feedlot manure, feedlot and transport effluent. The report also includes a life cycle assessment and benefit cost analysis of global technologies for processing manure, revealing where economic and environmental gains might be found - and where business as usual may still be the most viable option.
This webinar will:
Answer typical questions around managing manure
Provide guidance on deriving value from the byproduct
Present the facts on manure management to debunk common misconceptions
Presenters
Dr Matt Redding, Senior Principal Soil Chemist at Agri-Science Queensland, brings decades of expertise in nutrient management and sustainable ag practices.
Jason Shearer Smith, Director/COO at Smithfield Cattle Co, will offer a practical, feedlot-focused perspective on turning manure into a valuable resource.
Mary- Frances (Fran) Copley, Senior Consultant – Agriculture and Economics at IntegrityAg.
This is an opportunity for feedlot operators and industry stakeholders to stay ahead of the curve, gain insight into the future of manure management, and explore emerging opportunities in the circular economy.
