Animal Welfare Officer Accredited Training | September 2022



Registrations are now open for the ALFA Animal Welfare Officer Accredited Training, to be delivered in-person in September across Queensland, South Australia & Western Australia.


The one-and-a-half-day training course, delivered by feedlot veterinarian Dr Paul Cusack and ALFA’s Technical Services Officer Jeff House, is aimed at providing feedlot managers, supervisors, key training personnel and quality assurance officers with the most up-to-date knowledge and skills for the management, assessment, auditing and on-the-job training of animal welfare within a feedlot operation.


This workshop will be run as a combination of classroom and on-site (feedlot) practical work-based assignments followed by a post-course assessment process.


CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion of the training and post-training activities, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment from TAFE Queensland (RTO Number 0275) for

the Animal Welfare Officer Skill Set, containing the following units of competency:

  • AMPA2006 - Apply animal welfare and handling requirements

  • AMPA416 - Oversee humane handling of animals

Each enrolled person is required to hold a Unique Student Identifier (USI) - please ensure you have your USI with you on the day of the training, along with a completed TAFE Student Personal Details Form (download PDF form here). REGISTRATION FEE

Registration is per person and covers training materials, catering for the two days, and certification. Travel to and from the workshop is not included.


Early bird rates: (register by 4 August)

ALFA MEMBER - $472 (inc gst) per person

NON-MEMBER - $573 (inc gst) per person


Full rates:

ALFA MEMBER - $532 (inc gst) per person

NON-MEMBER - $633 (inc gst) per person


Once registered, you will be emailed a form to complete your enrolment details ahead of the training date.


Group Enrolments

If you have a group enrolment, please select number of staff in the checkout, and enter details of the primary contact person. We will contact the primary person post registration to collect the enrolment details of staff to complete the registration i.e. full name, email address and USI number (if known) of each person.

Pay on Invoice/PO Registrations If you would like to pay on invoice and/or require a PO number, please email events@feedlots.com.au with the full name, email address and USI number (if known) of each person you'd like to register and ALFA will register your group and issue an invoice upon receival.
