The feedlot industry is dedicated to growing a professional workforce. Feedlots can provide driven, hardworking people with their first taste of the industry through Graduate or Trainee Programs. These are a great introduction to feedlots and allows for on the ground experience and learning.
Graduate or Trainee Programs can run for several years and provide experience in different areas and roles. Programs may also include professional development, leadership and management training. These programs aim to create individuals with a complete knowledge and understanding of all facets of the feedlot business.

AAM
AAM Graduate Program 2026

AAM Graduate Program
AAM is an Australian-owned investment and operations company focused on agriculture, infrastructure, and supply chains. AAM actively manages assets across Australia, including cattle, sheep, poultry, cropping, timber, and logistics – supplying both domestic and international markets.
Number of graduate spaces available: 1 or 2.
Program experience: The AAM Graduate Program is a structured, multi-rotation development pathway designed to build future leaders in agribusiness. It begins with onboarding and mentorship, introducing graduates to AAM’s values, culture, and leadership. Graduates complete three key rotations:
Head Office (Brisbane) – Develop a strong understanding of AAM’s corporate functions and build internal networks.
Site-Based Rotations (Assets) – Gain hands-on operational experience and complete project work across AAM’s assets.
Final Site Rotation – Consolidate skills and prepare for a position with in the industry.
Throughout the program, graduates are supported by executive and operational mentors, engage in career development planning, and are considered for long-term roles as the program concludes.

Australian Country Choice
Graduate Programs – feedlots & processing
Opal Creek, near Cecil Plains west of Toowoomba carries 30,000 head or Brindley Park near Roma, runs 20,000 head.
Australian Country Choice is an industry leader in producing and supplying the highest quality beef products to both local and export markets. We employ 1200 team members and together our diverse operation runs 300,000 cattle across our large-scale breeding, backgrounding, farming, and lotfeeding through to our modern food processing and value add packing facility. We are the largest, Australian owned and privately operated, fully integrated beef cattle supply chain.
Two graduate programs are offered, for lotfeeding and processing.
Feedlot program: Based at two of our largest feedlots and learning from some of industry’s best, you’ll gain in-depth insights into a variety of cattle feeding programs from short fed supermarket, midfed Angus through to longfed Wagyu cattle at either location:
Opal Creek, near Cecil Plains west of Toowoomba carries 30,000 head
Brindley Park near Roma, runs 20,000 head.
The graduate program involves rotations in each of these key feedlot areas, providing first-hand, practical experience and a thorough working knowledge of livestock, animal nutrition, maintenance and administration operations within our feedlots. The program can be tailored to suit your interest and extend to include exposure to other parts of the beef supply chain such as genetics, breeding, commodities buying, livestock buying, broadacre farming and meat processing.
Duration: Two years Starting date: Late 2025/early 2026
Processing program: Our Processing Graduate Program offers hands-on experience in one of the country’s most advanced beef processing facilities.
Graduates undertake structured rotations across areas such as food safety and quality assurance, production planning, logistics, primary and further processing, cold stores, and shared services. The program builds practical, technical, and leadership capability with direct support from operational mentors. Graduates also gain exposure to other parts of the supply chain to build a full understanding of how our business operates.

Australian Agricultural Co 2026 graduate program

The Australian Agricultural Co is Australia’s largest integrated cattle and beef producer, specialising in grassfed, grainfed, and Wagyu beef production. Established in 1824, we’re Australia’s oldest continuously operating company. Over two years, graduates will complete four rotations giving hands-on experience across different parts of the business. What you’ll need to be successful

Graduated prior to the commencement of the 2026 program or no longer than 3 years ago with a Bachelor Ag Science, Diploma in Agriculture or a relevant field.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn, a proactive approach, strong communication skills and a passion for agriculture.
You will be able to demonstrate experience in agriculture-related work fields, customer service, problem solving and leadership capabilities.

Our program is for recent or soon-to-be graduates who are committed to the future of agribusiness and are looking to start a career in regional or rural Australia.
We hire graduates from business, economics, agribusiness, and commerce backgrounds. Our agribusiness graduate program has several intakes throughout the year.
Our team comprises 650 regional and agribusiness bankers in more than 120 locations across regional and rural Australia. As Australia’s largest lender to agricultural business, you’ll play an integral role in supporting our agribusiness customers. We’ve developed a deep understanding of agriculture in Australia and we use our specialist knowledge and expertise to deliver sustainable solutions.

Our Trainee Manager Program is designed to provide participants with exposure to all disciplines involved in lot feeding on a rotational basis. The program also enables trainees to gain as much hands on practical experience as possible, with the view of establishing a skill-set that will enable them to manage each area of the feedlot when required.
Our program provides a unique insight into how a successful family business works, and participants receive one on one mentoring from our highly experienced senior leadership team.
