The National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme (NFAS)
When ALFA developed NFAS, it was the first quality assurance program implemented in Australian agriculture. It requires every accredited feedlot to be independently audited on an annual basis to ensure they comply with animal welfare, environmental and food safety legislation. Read more

Grain Fed Beef Standards & Specifications
ALFA established a series of minimum standards and specifications for ‘grain fed’ beef that were subsequently incorporated into the AUS-MEAT trading language.
National Beef Cattle Feedlot Environmental Code of Practice and National Guidelines for Beef Cattle Feedlots
ALFA developed the Code of Practice to provide nationally consistent minimum requirements for the establishment and operation of feedlots from an environmental perspective. The Guidelines provide ‘guidance’ on how the Code of Practice requirements may be achieved.
