We are looking for a Feedlot Systems Support Officer to join our Business Services team.  This position will be a 12 Month Fixed Term Maternity Leave role, based in Toowoomba.  Reporting to the Human Resources & WHS Manager, you will be required to assist in areas of administration, documentation management and project work.  

Primary responsibilities of the role will include:

Documentation Management

• Develop documentation requirements in collaboration with operational departments

• Create, standardise and proof read all documentation

• Manage all levels of the document life cycle across various platforms

• Assist operational departments conduct system audits and reviews

Project Work

• Improve functionality of multi-faceted delivery systems for end users

• Assist to implement, support and train teams in any new changes to software/delivery systems

Recruitment Maintenance

  • Assist with the recruitment process when the need arises

The successful applicant will have:

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• The ability to work autonomously as well as in a team and manage multiple projects concurrently

• Advanced communication skills (written and interpersonal)

• Business or technical writing skills would be advantageous

Located conveniently at either Opal Creek Feedlot, just 35 km from Cecil Plains, or Brindley Park Feedlot, 32 km from Roma, ACC's two largest feedlots have several permanent opportunities for Pen Riders & Livestock Hands.These roles undertake a range of intensive cattle feedlot activities including: 

  • Best practice cattle handling

  • Cattle processing - inductions, drafting, treatment etc

  • Observations & monitoring of cattle health and nutrition

  • Identifying symptoms and providing recommended diagnosis

  • Accurate recording of cattle identification, movement & treatments

McNamee Group operates Lemontree Feedlot, a modern 20,000 head beef and dairy feedlot at Millmerran Qld. 

We currently have an opportunity available for a reliable and self-motivated Livestock Hand to join our operation. Successful applicants will need to have previous Horse & Stock knowledge or feedlot experience in the follow areas:  

  • Induction

  • Coordination of cattlemovement

  • Recordinglivestock information

  • Pen riding and monitoring animal health.

  • Must be a capable horse person with a minimum of two horses preferred.

Situated at Millmerran, Qld – Single Staff Accommodation available.

Please note – it is company policy that all horses entering Lemontree Feedlot be Hendra Vaccinated. And all livestock hands wear a certified Helmet when riding a horse.

Livestock Hand/ Penrider

Jalna Feedlot is seeking a motivated, energetic and respectful employee. The position will include all aspects of feed lotting along with occasional cropping and or machinery operations. 

Although we will consider all skill levels, it would be beneficial if the applicant did have prior experience with cattle and or feedlot operations. We are willing to invest in training and development for the right applicant.

We currently have a permanent full time position available for a Livestock Hand/penrider in our Livestock Team.

Key responsibilities and attributes include:

  • Motivated

  • Energetic

  • Honest

  • Respectful

  • Punctual

  • High attention to detail

  • Prepared to learn

  • Willing and able to work as part of the team, and at times able to perform tasks on their own

  • High level of livestock knowledge and handling skills

  • Shows interest in their jobs and the care of livestock

  • Sound literacy & numeracy skills

  • Sound machinery knowledge (operating and maintaining)

  • Competent level of welding skills(not a necessity)

  • Own horses would be an advantage

  • All aspects of cattle handling from induction of new cattle to dispatch of finished cattle.

  • All aspects of animal health and welfare management from pen riding and treatments.

  • Data recording and input for all activities.

  • Inventory control and stocktaking of all livestock products.

  • Cleaning & maintenance of facilities.

Any other duties that may be required by the business. Ideally the successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Demonstrated experience in livestock management.

  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment.

  • Good judgement and initiative and the ability to problem solve.

  • Sound computer skills.

  • Be supportive of OH&S and QA principles.
