MILL HAND (JBS Caroona Feedlot, the Liverpool Plains NSW)

JBS Australia’s Northern Division operates five strategically-placed processing facilities as well as five feedlots across Queensland and New South Wales, with access to an extensive network of quality cattle.  Our network provides the ability to meet the specific demands of various market segments with an extensive range of grain-fed and pasture-fed products.


About the Role:

JBS Australia’s Caroona Feedlot is a 24,000 head capacity feedlot situated on the Liverpool plains, 35km west of Quirindi, North West NSW. We are currently looking for a motivated, efficient and reliable individual to join our feeding team on a full time basis.


The purpose of this position is to assist in the daily delivery of feed, maintain bunk hygiene and commodity handling. The ability and willingness to learn, operating machinery and data input are an integral part of this position.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Timely loading, mixing and delivery of feed

  • Data input and maintenance

  • Daily pre-operational checks of associated vehicles

  • Maintain and service equipment

  • General hygiene duties (Shoveling/Sweeping/Washing)

  • Compliance with all JBS Australia policies including: WHS, HR, Quality Assurance and Environmental obligations.

  • Additional Mill roustabout duties as required

KEY CRITERIA:

  • Experience operating machinery

  • A mechanical aptitude

  • Basic computer skills

  • Time Management skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Experience working within a team

The mill hand position works an 8 day on, 6 day off rotating roster. It is paid under level 4 of the Pastoral Award with penalty rates on weekends and public holidays.
