MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (Aronui Feedlot, Dalby QLD)
Aronui Feedlot is located 20 km from Dalby. We are looking to share the Australian experience and require employees from a diverse range of backgrounds with a variety of skills, talents and aspirations, and a strong work ethic to join us.
We are currently seeking a machinery mechanic to service and maintain all fixed and running machinery on the Aronui Feedlot.
Seeking an individual with the following qualities:
Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Fitter trade qualification - Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology, Certificate IV in Agriculture with machinery and equipment repair elective complete or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology accepted.
Experience working with heavy vehicles
Current driver’s license & truck license (or willingness to obtain)
Electrical experience highly regarded
Ability to work well independently without supervision, as well as part of a team
Ability to complete paperwork and job cards thoroughly and accurately
Self-motivation, initiative and the ability to own a job from start to finish is essential
Must be reliable, trustworthy and thorough
Strong focus on workplace safety and work ethics
Duties & responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Maintain and service all machinery, e.g. feed trucks, loaders, Toyotas, bobcats.
Undertake all fixed maintenance of mill machinery.
Operate machinery when required.
Perform your job in a safe manner in line with AACo safety programs and procedures
Take responsibility for your safe work behaviour
Carry out repairs and overhauls as required
Complete records of work carried out
Maintain spare parts
Maintain an efficient and safe workshop
Train operators to perform daily checks and services
Repairs and services to water pumps and pumping equipment
Schedule the fixing of bores according to urgency
Service and repairs
Component change outs
Minor and major shutdown support
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in a similar role
Diesel Mechanic trade qualification - certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology, Certificate IV in Agriculture with machinery and equipment repair elective complete or Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology accepted
Experience in welding, carpentry, concreting and/or fabrication preferred
Technical capability and understanding
High level of organisation skills
Written and verbal communication skills
Independently carry out servicing, repairs & maintenance, fault finding & diagnostics on a wide range of equipment including but not limited to: Trucks & Trailers, Buses, 4wd's, Earthmoving & Agricultural Equipment
