LIVESTOCK HANDS (Ladysmith and Gundamain Feedlots, NSW)
Ladysmith Feedlot is a 6,500 head capacity feedlot, situated near Wagga Wagga in the NSW Riverina.
Gundamain Feedlot is a 6000 head feedlot located near Eugowra in Central West NSW.
We currently have permanent positions available for Livestock Hands in our Livestock Teams at both yards.
Key responsibilities include:
All aspects of cattle handling from induction of new cattle to dispatch of finished cattle.
All aspects of animal health and welfare management from pen riding and treatments through to post-mortems.
Data recording and input for all activities.
Inventory control and stocktaking of all livestock products.
Cleaning & maintenance of facilities.
Ideally the successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Demonstrated experience in livestock management.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to work in a team environment.
Good judgement and initiative and the ability to problem solve.
Sound computer skills.
Be supportive of OH&S and QA principles.
The successful applicant will be required to provide suitably trained stockhorses and appropriate saddlery, for which an allowance will be paid. Up to 2 working horses can be fully maintained on site.
