FEED ALLOCATOR (Kerwee Feedlot, Jondaryan QLD)

Stockyard Lot Feeders Pty Ltd Kerwee feedlot is a 20,200 head modern feeding facility based in Jondaryan, QLD.

We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our progressive feed team as a full time “Feed Allocator”.


Reporting to the Feed/Mill Manager, the feed allocator will be primarily responsible for ensuring our animals are delivered consistent quality feed to their bunks in a timely manner. The role involves the operation and maintenance of our feed delivery, and commodity handling plant, delivering over 240 tonne of mixed feed each day.


What you’ll be doing

  • Ensure cattle are fed on time as consistently as practical each day.

  • Responsible for having enough grain for each day’s feeding requirements.

  • Conduct scheduled ration and commodity test sample collection.

  • Ensure records are kept up to date including regular KPI monitoring, FY3000 feed data entry and digistar communications.

  • Ensure the commodity shed and liquid handling area are clean, operable, and maintained hygienic state.

  • Ensure feed truck is operating in a well maintained and functional capacity including calibration, delivery accuracy and minimise spillage.

  • Monitor feed bunks to ensure the daily feed is delivered to clean bunks.

  • Ensure ration programs set by the General Manager are met, and rations are loaded and mixed accordingly monitoring mixing consistency.

  • Assist the Feed/Mill Manager to plan and execute capital expenditure projects and feed delivery efficiencies.


You will be working alongside a team of 8, on a 10/4 roster.

This position would be suited to a mechanically minded person who can work alone and, in a group, to consistently achieve company benchmarks.


The successful candidate for this role should show the following attributes:

  • Strong time management abilities

  • Proven experience working as part of a diverse team.

  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of personnel and management.

  • Strong focus on following and enforcing WH&S and environmental requirements.

  • Knowledge of Feeding, Milling and heavy machinery maintenance desirable.

  • Experience in cattle feeding and Elynx programs will be an advantage.
