BOILER MAKER (Aronui Feedlot, Kaimkillenbun QLD)

As the Welder for Aronui Feedlot, you play an integral part in the fabrication and assembly of structural metal products throughout the property. This includes frameworks or shells for machinery, ovens, tanks, stacks and other metal parts for buildings according to their jobs or blueprints.

To be successful in the role, you have to have the ability to accurately and in a timely manner attend to the needs of Feedlot and Feedmill for all things welding and occasionally maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical repairs and maintenance of Feedlot and Feedmill equipment and vehicles preferred

  • Ensure workplace health and safety procedures are maintained

  • Maintain efficient workshop by keeping floors, benches and equipment clean and serviceable

  • Work according to a Maintenance Program for all vehicle, plant and machinery

  • Fabricate, weld and assemble structural metal products

  • Sheet metal fabrication

  • Joint responsibility for ordering spare parts, oils, and fuels for the feedlot

  • Operate machinery when required

The official stuff – Experiences and qualifications

  • Be able to meet all the educational and experience pre-requisites for the appointed FFB level as specified in the current AACo Certified Agreement

  • Strong structural welding or fabrication with fit-out experience, with the ability to read drawings and follow instructions

  • Experience in supporting leaders

  • Excellent organisational skills
