ADMINISTRATOR-FEEDLOT (Wainui Feedlot, Darling Downs QLD)

Founded in 1877, The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) is a leader in Australia’s cattle industry, operating 14 cattle stations across QLD and the NT, a central office in Brisbane’s CBD and an award-winning Feedlot and Farm on the Darling Downs. The Wainui Feedlot and Farm is located between Dalby and Toowoomba and has an 18,000-head capacity, making it one of Australia’s most modern and efficient feedlots.

We currently have an exciting opportunity available at our Wainui Feedlot, for an experienced Feedlot Administrator. This position is an 8-month fixed-term contract, to cover maternity leave. Ideal working hours are 7am – 4pm, Monday to Friday, however flexible work arrangements may be available.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Feedlot Manager, the purpose of this role is to manage varied administration tasks accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking varied administration tasks and acting as a first point of contact for enquiries in person, over the phone and via email

  • Managing and entering data into databases, including:

-Elynx suite (Fy3000, StockaID, FeedBunk & weighbridge), SUN accounting systems

and Conservis Farm database – Experience using these databases will be highly regarded

  • Undertaking monthly reconciliation of databases and creating reports

  • Commodity scheduling and ordering, liaising with suppliers, vendors and transport, undertaking document control and dispute resolution

  • Managing staff records, inductions and training

  • Handling contractor/visitor entry and all biosecurity controls for visitors onsite

  • Organising accounts, ordering and approvals, matching orders and invoices, entering for payment, statements, Capex approvals, ordering and works management and undertaking all other general account enquiries

  • Coordinating site and office maintenance, including:

- Fire extinguisher audits, machine/plant calibrations, sampling and testing goods, PPE

and first aid supplies, specific stock for work areas, stationary orders, equipment services

and repairs

Is this you?

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Administration experience in a feedlot will be highly regarded

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to proactively prioritise and multi-task

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • An ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders at multiple levels, in different locations

  • Familiarity with accounting systems/duties, human resources and customer service procedures

  • Well established computer skills across operating systems such as Microsoft office suite, communication & collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom etc..) and accounting software
