Animal Welfare Officer Training registrations now open

ALFA is proud to announce that it will be holding Animal Welfare Officer Training around Australia throughout August, September and October this year.
This one-and-a-half-day training course is aimed at providing feedlot managers, supervisors, key training personnel and quality assurance officers with the most up to date knowledge and skills for the management, assessment, auditing and on-the-job training of animal welfare within a feedlot operation.
The workshops will be delivered by feedlot veterinarian, Dr Paul Cusack and ALFA’s Technical Services Officer, Jeff House.
The workshops will be run as a combination of classroom and on-site (feedlot) practical work-based assignments followed by a post course assessment process.
Upon successful completion of post course work assessments, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the Animal Welfare Officer Skills Set in the following units of competency:
- MTMP2010A Apply animal welfare and handling requirements
- MTMP414A Oversee humane handling of animals
